Road Diary Day 3 | reaching Glasgow

I had a nice lie in today and read for a while with my coffee this morning. My latest novel is 'One Hundred Years of Solitude' by Gabriel Garcia Marquez, unbelievable, fantastical tales on every page.

Turning the van on a narrow road to begin today's drive I managed to catch the bike rack on a wire fence, resulting in buckling the rack - it was too wet to repair it then and there so the bike had to ride inside. Should be able to fix it in the morning I think.

I drove in the rain through the valley at Glencoe on the A82 enjoying the spectacular scenery towering above me in the mist. Eventually I stopped at Tyndrum for a bite of lunch, frying up some potatoes I'd cooked last night with mackerel and paprika..

Then back on the road again. It was a laid back drive, bouncing along the road as the weather improved the further south along Loch Lomond I got. I was pretty tired though after a later than usual night.

I've been in Glasgow since about 5pm visiting with Chrissie & Loraine, eating pizza and watching a zombie movie! First junk food and tv in a long time for sure, but has to be done once in a while.

Time for bed, 5 hr drive coming up tomorrow...
